1. What is ATPL?

A term used for pilots who’ve cleared exams but haven’t yet logged the full 1500 hours.
6. Is ATPL necessary for flying in the right seat (co-pilot)?
No, CPL + Type Rating is enough for First Officer positions.
7. Is simulator flying counted for ATPL?
Only DGCA-approved Level-D sim time under specified limits is counted.
8. How do I convert CPL to ATPL?
Pass exams, complete flying hours, and submit documents via EGCA.
9. What is the validity of ATPL?
It is valid for 5 years and renewed through proficiency checks.
10. Do I need a separate type rating for ATPL?
No, but you must have a valid type rating to act as PIC on that aircraft.
