What is SPL?
It is the first license issued to allow basic training and supervised solo flying.
At what age can I apply for SPL?
Minimum age is 16 years.
What is the process to get an SPL?
Pass an Oral Exam at your flying school and undergo Class 2 medical.
Is SPL mandatory before starting flying?
Yes, it is required before you’re allowed to fly solo.
How long is SPL valid?
It is valid for 2 years and can be renewed.

No DGCA exam required, only internal school tests.

Around ₹10,000–₹15,000 depending on the school.
Can I fly solo with SPL?
Yes, only under supervision and only in training aircraft.
Is SPL issued by DGCA?
Yes, but it is processed through your flying school.
Is RTR required for SPL?
No. RTR is needed only later for CPL.
